Recording Setup

Not much to look at but I call it home. I currently record on a Behringer 1604 board, using a Behringer B2pro and a Carvin CM90E (both condenser mics). I did have a decent pair of Carvin headphones until the dog chewed them up (he's still alive), but that forced me to upgrade to a very nice pair of Sony headphones. I get the sound in the computer with a Lexicon Core 2 sound card, with 4 ins and 8 outs. Kay is a PIII, 450 MHz, with 320 MB of RAM, and about 60 GB of hd space. I still run Win98 since the Lexicon card won't support anything higher, but I'm a firm believer that if it still does the job, it's not obsolete. The multitacking software I use is Cakewalk 8 and it seems to do just about everything I need. Since I don't have a burner on this machine, I ship files across the network to Vid, my video computer for burning and other processing. When I need to play with wav's, I usually use Cool Edit Pro or Pristine Sounds.
